I recently purchased the Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 CPU Cooler to replace my stock cooler. Follow this link to view the product specs: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX31905
For my Intel® Core™2 Quad processor, the cooler comes with a mounting frame, 4 pushpins, and 2 screws to secure the fan to the frame, as shown:
The problem is that my stock cooler is secured to my motherboard with 4 screws (and springs), and after removing the stock cooler, I noticed that the pushpins will not fit into the holes of the screw posts. Do I need to uninstall my motherboard and remove these 4 screw posts from beneath in order to make room for the pushpins?
This is my first time removing the motherboard so any help is appreciated.
