My son and I are trying to build a gaming PC. I have a Corsair CX500M power supply, and a Geoforce GTX 650 video card. The video card has a 6 pin connector, which I assume should be connected to a 6 pin output from the power supply. But the only cable that has (2) 6-pin connectors has them too close together to reach the video card from the power supply.

One of the cables has an 8 pin on the end, with (2) 6+2 connectors . Can I use one of those?

Thanks in advance.

I have CX500 PSU, will it be able to power Sapphire AMD Radeon R9 270x 4GB DDR5 DUAL-X OC? Getting it at a very good price. Also, want to know if my PSU can power two cards (Sapphire AMD Radeon R9 270x + XFX AMD Radeon HD 7700) at the same time or not.

1. My PSU is Corsair CX500.
2. Processor is Intel i3 (Intel (R) Core (TM) i3 CPU 540 @ 3.07 Ghz 3.06 Ghz).
3. RAM two 2 GB DDR3 (total 4GB)
4. GPU is XFX AMD Radeon HD 7700
5. Operating system is Windows 7 64 bit
6. The whole system is more than 3.5 years old.
