Greetings.
I've had an ATI Radeon 4850 HD card for around 7 years. A few months ago, I tried replacing it with an Nvidia GT 630. After installing the latest card drivers, my computer would reboot shortly after getting into Windows (with times varying between 2 and 30 minutes). It's worth mentioning that the card works on another computer without any problems.
I got a new Nvidia GeForce GTX 750Ti today and tried my luck with it. Now the computer would restart while it was on Windows' loading screen. I performed a clean installation of Windows, and I was now able to install the drivers from the accompanying CD. The same problem occured again, the computer now restarts a couple of seconds after it gets on Windows.
I tried replacing the RAM modules with others in case it was a RAM problem but the problem persists. I also tried inserting the cards into different PCIe slots just in case.
My computer's mobo is a GIGABYTE P55-UD3R (not sure about the revision) with the latest drivers installed and my PSU is a Corsair 550W CMPSU-550VXEU.
The other computer's mobo is a GIGABYTE H77M-D3H (again, not sure about the revision) and its PSU is a Thermaltake TR2 RX Cable Management 550W.
Do you have any idea what might be wrong? I (and the friend who sent me here 😛 ) suspect it's a motherboard problem but I would also like the opinion of more experienced people.
Thank you for your time!
EDIT: I also used the free version of Driver Booster to update any outdated drivers, which I did but the problem remains.
