Installing HP Solution Center

Hello,
I have downloaded HP Solution Center and followed directions to the "T"....Unplugged ethernet cable etc. During the install it recognizes my printer a 7410 but when doing final install it pops up a large red X. When trying to open the Solution Center I get an error message.
"It can not run because yor device installation is not complete" Then tells you to unplugged the printer and re-install. Have done that several times.
Have it connected with an ethernet cable via the router. Even tried to connect direct.

Why bother with it, why don't you just go download the printer specific driver? Here:

IMO - Most HP software that goes beyond the printer is crap.

This is wht I loaded before but it won't access the printer for scanning from the "HP Solutions" any thoughts
