[SOLVED] Installing Java on the latest Apple Mac version

for some odd reason I can't install Java. Got rid of Chrome. However need Java to play bridge on line. Tried every which way but nothing is happening. I have Mountain Lion 10.8.2 even after when I download Java I can't see the box on the desktop and have logged off several times just in case. Please help

The recommendation (at the moment) is don't unless you know what you are doing.
Java (browser plug-in) has some major security flaws that are being actively exploited; Apple disable the plug-in in the latest updates.

That report was from the previous Java Panic (October last year), not the current one; the latest "Fix" adds the (Oracle) Java plug-in to the malicious code block list.

The Java flaws exist in all builds, Windows, OS X and linux; if you must Troll, at least do some basic research first.
