I recently bought a 1TB 970 Evo and installed it in my system, and for reference i have a z97x gaming 3 motherboard. I had intended to use it to completely replace my 5 year old 1TB HDD but on boot was greeted by a no bootable drives error on system startup.

After having a look in the BIOS it seems that by installing the SSD not only was it not recognised but it caused the BIOS to become unable to recognise my HDD either. Removing the 970 removes the problem entirely and my PC works normally.

Short of updating my BIOS I don't really know what to do.

"(M.2, SATA Express, and SATA3 4/5 connectors can only be used one at a time. The SATA3 4/5 connectors will become unavailable when an M.2 SSD is installed.)"
