Installing new graphics card power connector problem.

to replace my nvidia 550 ti card. The card has a slot for both a six pin and 8pin connector. Do I need to plug them both in? Here is my psu. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151093

I don't think I even have an 8pin cord. What should I do?

Yes you need to plug both in to make the card work.
Your power supply should have one 6+2 pin and one 6 pin PCIE connector.

You should have a 6+2 pin PCIE connector to make a 8 pin PCIE power cable.
You clip the extra two pin hang off the 6 pin to make a 8 pin PCIE.

should the 2 piece already be attached? It appears I only have 2 6pin cords

Maybe seasonic messed up? can I just go out and buy one of these cords from microcenter or something?

EDIT: Luckily I found a 6pin to 8pin converter in the gpu box. Thank you very much for your help

sorry I removed them from my dropbox. I definitely don't have that 6+2 connector though. Will one of these http://www.systemagnostic.com/wp-uploads/2013/02/2x6pin-to-8pin-PCIe.jpg work instead?

If you plug two 6 pins into that adaptar then yes it will work.
Are you sure you have the M12II 520W? You should have at least one 6+2 pin and one 6 pin PCIE cable given.
