My computer uses 2X256Mb 184Pin PC2100 DDR266 CL2.5 RAM -- I don't know the timings or the voltage. I had a 1024Mb stick ordered and I tried to get the specs as close as possible but I still used a lot of guessing... aka newegg only had CL2.5 RAM with 2.5Volt which was about right considering the voltages and speeds.
The motherboard is an Abit BD7 and Crucial doesn't make PC2100 for it anymore.
I know how to physically get the RAM in but thats not the problem -- how would I go about installing RAM that I don't know the timings of? do they even matter? When I put the new stuff in its probably going to try to run at the timings of the old stuff and as I said before I don't know the timings on either RAM.
A friend told me to just go into the BIOS and turn on auto detection... would this work?
Kind of funny really.. get some RAM and you don't know if it will work.

Motherboard manual was of little help. Thanks Abit.
