The title says it all!

I will have a brand new SSD on Tuesday and want to have my OS on it. The plan is to install it, install Win 7 on it and then my old hard drive that has the OS on it will still be usable and will not cause any issues, since if I boot from the SSD then the old OS on the HDD would not be a problem.

Will this work and what will happen to all of the apps I have on the hard drive?

Happy New Year!

Unplug the old HDD before you do the install on the new SSD, wait till the new install is done and then plug the old drive back in. All you data and files will still be there of course, but you will have to reinstall all your programs and applications to make them work correctly with the new OS.
