Hi

I have recently bought Corsair Vengeance 4GB Ram 1600Mhz. I am wondering, whether I have to do anything manually via the BIOS in order to make it work, cause MemOk might not let computer run. If so, can anyone tell me exactly what to do to make it work?

Another question is, I have a 2GB Stick which is 1333Mhz currently installed. What can I do to make my computer run with both rams?

Thanks

No. 1600 speed memory is the default speed on pretty much every motherboard out there nowadays. So plug it in, and enjoy it.

If you mix the two speeds, the memory controller will drop to 1333 immediately, and start from there attempting to find a common set of settings that it can use to talk to both sticks. There is a chance it could drop down one more step to 1066 speed to talk to both.

All you can do is to put them in and see what the memory controller thinks. If the machine locks up before the machine boots, you know the memory controller did not like the pairing. Also, it could pass pre-boot, and still lock things up after the operating system has started. So keep that in mind in case you start getting lockups.

Ideally with memory, you want to buy a kit of 2 or 4 sticks of the same memory. Those have been tested to work together, and in the end, it tends to save you a whole lot of headaches in most cases.
