Installing New RAM onto of Old RAM

Hello,

Right now I have 3, 2GB ram sticks in slots 1,3, and 6 of my motherboard running in a triple channel setup for a total of 6GB of ram. I recently purchased a corsair 8 GB vengeance stick of RAM and want to install it in the free slot 2 of my motherboard. Will I have performance issues with my previously installed RAM sticks by installing the new vengeance RAM?

It's not recommended to mix various RAM size/types as they will vary in speed, channel, chipset and timing, which may cause some issues with your system. Typically, the system will run at the lowest possible speed if you mix RAM as well..
