Installing NVIDIA gtx 1080ti into a dell precision t3610

I am trying to upgrade my dell precision t3610 with an NVIDIA gtx 1080ti. I got a power supply of 685 watts from dell, but the problem is the proprietary power supply (it is a hot swap that feeds power to a little board which has two 8 pin female connectors and one 24 pin female connectors) doesn’t have enough connectors. NVIDIA gtx 1080ti needs one 8 pin connector and one 6 pin connector. The 24 pin connector and one 8 pin connectors are connected to the motherboard and the other 8 pin connector is free. I could connect this available 8 pin connector to the graphics card but I still have to connect the remaining 6 pin connector on the card. Do you know if there is any work around this ? I also bought a 650 W power supply from corsair but Dell makes it really hard to replace their proprietary power supply with something else.

the gpu itself needs an 600W PSU but can the 1080ti handle your computer and is there enough airflow in your computer case!

Everything I found online is that the PSU is very proprietary and you cannot put a standard ATX PSU in this one. You could buy this instead though:

The there is the cable, you need the 6 pin. Unless there is a second slot for it or two 4pin Molex that can be converted to a 6 pin PCIe power cable (which I do not recommend) you wont be able to provide the power properly.

This is a workstation system and was made to run low to mid end workstation class GPUs that run 1 PCIe power cable. I can't really find anything online to add another PCIe power cable except there is a single 8 pin to dual 8pin but that's used to run two lower end Quadros.

XxDarkmario, thanks for your reply. I got the upgraded proprietary power supply from dell, which is 685 watts. So wattage should not be an issue. As per your concern about airflow, I could leave the computer case open on one side and blow a fan on it whenever I am doing my simulations that require GPU calculations, My usage will be running some simulations that require GPU for one - two hours straight at a time. I am not upgrading for gaming purposes.

Jimmysmitty, thanks for your reply. Yes I already got this power supply. My original power supply was 425 Watts. From what is shown in picture ( from the link you posted from ebay), the 24 pin connector and one 8 pin connector ( the one with white connectors ) go to motherboard which are connected through the 24 pin connector and the white connector of the circuit board shown in the picture. It is left with only one connector ( the black one that is shown in the figure of the link you posted). This connector can go to the 8 pin connector of the GPU but the 6 pin connector of the GPU is still left out.
