I am building a gaming PC with configuration core i7 8700K, Asus ROG STRIX Geforce RTX 2080Ti OC edition 11GB with motherboard Asus strix z-370E gaming motherboard. My question is can I install Samsung 970 Evo 500GB NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD with a sata ssd which is Samsung 860 Evo 250GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive. And does that make any performance difference?

Solution
If you are planning to just use the 860 EVO for storage, then yes, it makes plenty of sense IF that drive is big enough for your storage needs. Or even if you plan to do it the other way around and need your storage to be on the faster device rather than the operating system.

Either way, all SSD systems are becoming much more common and unless you need a large amount of space, many Terrabytes, it just about makes sense in every situation. Then if you find you DO need more space you can always add another large internal or external hard drive later.
