Question Installing NVMe SSD with thermal pad?

Hi all,

Just got done finishing my build (7800X3D/RTX 4080). Really happy with it! I used a mATX board (B650M-HDV/M.2) that has two M2 slots (one which came with a heatsink). I originally installed a TEAMGROUP T-Force Cardea A440 Pro 2 TB (came with a slim graphene heat sticker thing, did not use) into the main M2 slot with the included heatsink, but I recently was able to snag a Samsung 990 Pro 4TB for $150 and am wondering what my options are.

The RTX 4080 is a friggin' beast and covers the second M2 slot, so I don't think I'd be able to install a heat sink on whatever drive I put there. So my question is, what are my options? Is a thermal pad my best bet? Should I use the graphene heat label that came with the Cardea A440 Pro and just stick it on the Samsung 990 Pro? I haven't measured the clearance between the board and the 4080, but I could if people think there is a slim enough heat sink out there.

Second question is, should I bother making the Samsung 990 Pro my main drive? I've installed everything on the Cardea A440 Pro obviously, so I'm wondering if I should swap in the 990 Pro and use the 2TB drive as a secondary drive. If I were to clone the A440 Pro to the 990 Pro would I have any problems?

Appreciate your help!
