Hello,

I recently purchased a new prebuilt computer. My old computer has an HDD which was where windows booted from. I have an SSD that I use to store all my games. My new computer will come with a M.2 SSD where windows will be booted from.

I want to install my storage SSD with all my games into my new computer. Is it possible for me to just plug it in and have all my games ready to play? Or do I have to reset it?

Thank you in advance.

Solution
For Steam games, you'll just have to tell the NEW Steam client where those games reside on the old drive.

Steam games location
In the steam client:
Steam
Settings
Downloads
Steam Library Folders
Add library folder

To move an already installed game
Games library
Right click the game
Properties
Local Files
Move Install Folder

Solution
As an addendum to that - More than once (for different systems), I've done the Add Library Folder thing exactly as @USAFRet mentions, and it does work.

The only thing that might be confusing at first is that, if you go to any of those games in your library, Steam will likely act as if it's not yet installed. If that happens, click install. Steam will look like its starting to download the game, then figure out what's on that other drive already, maybe download a few minor bits, and then it'll finish VERY quickly.
