Installing OS first time. Do not have an optical drive but a USB superdrive from Apple which is not working.

I know you can install it via USB but the program provided by the Windows website says that my product key can't be used. I used the product key that came with my Windows 8.1 OEM disc. Help?

Try the generic key 334NH-RXG76-64THK-C7CKG-D3VPT thats if its not Pro. You cant activate it, with this key tho

Then if this works activate it with the real key
