I just got a new computer with SSD and HDD drives. When attempting to install Photoshop CC on the SSD drive, I got an error message saying that it cannot be installed to a root directory. Do I need to create a programs or other folder before installing applications on the SSD drive?

Also, when downloading the latest version of Microsoft Office, I was not given any option as to installation location. Can I move it to the SSD drive? If so, how?

Thanks for any help,
Laura

So don't do it on C:\, do in on C:\Program Files.

Also, when downloading the latest version of Microsoft Office
I believe it only asks you for install location for a virgin install, not an update. You may have to completely uninstall it, then re-install from scratch, losing your current settings hope it's OK.

Thank you for responding, but you did not answer my question. I want to install PSCC onto my SSD which is the E drive. Since I cannot install to a root directory do I create a file called programs before installing?

Regarding Microsoft Office, it was not an update. It was a virgin install, but it did not ask where to install. Can it be moved to the E drive?

Well I had to make some assumption in the absent of precise information and assume everybody have their SSD as C: but no matter, same idea apply, instead of E:, do E:\Program Files, it doesn't even have to be Program File, it can be e:\PS, e:\Photoshop etc. You understand what root is right.

Regarding Microsoft Office, it was not an update. It was a virgin install, but it did not ask where to install. Can it be moved to the E drive?
Then I don't know.

Thank you. This time you did answer my question. I create a folder before installing an application. Thanks!
