Hey guys i've recently bought new ram sticks . Corsair vengance 1600c9r pc3 12800 and tried to add them to my currently samsung PC3-10700 (667MHz) After a few attempts i noticed that my Bios actually noticed the ram ( change from 4 to 12gbs ). How do i configure or manually add the new ones ?. Is it worth to mix them ?

Solution
No my suggestion is if both sets work individually then there is a compatibly problem when used together. If me id return the new RAM, sell the old and but a RAM kit for the amount you want. Only way they are guaranteed to work together. I know it's probably more expensive but that's the best option in my mind
Try the new sticks on there own, if they work ok on there own there is a comparability problem. This can happen even when using same make and model and is why it is recommended to buy all your RAM as a single kit. Mixing 2 different makes and models is even more likely to cause problems

Ive tried all the combonations. None of them including the new rams results in BSOD. i guess there's an compability problem but still shouldent it work. The pc is 3 years old so i guess the motherboard is a bit old :/
