I just installed ubuntu and am trying to install steam. I went through the terminal, entering sudo apt-get install steam. It went through the download process, I accepted the terms and conditions and all that. Then it brought me back to the terminal and had a bunch of processing triggers lines and preparing to unpack and all that kind of stuff. Then it stopped at Setting up steam: i386 (1:1.0.0.48-1ubuntu2.1). Then nothing happened after that, I gave it a few minutes and nothing. So I tried to launch it, nothing happened. Tried to launch it a few different ways and still nothing. Then I tried to reinstall it, and it said it was already installed. After I uninstalled steam and tried to reinstall with the same exact dilemma.

When I tried to launch steam via the terminal I get these messages:
Running Steam on ubuntu 15.10 64-bit
STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically
Installing breakpad exception handler for appid(steam)/version(0)
libGL error: unable to load driver: swrast_dri.so
libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast
