Hello guys!
I'm building a new pc and it is my first time so i have many questions. One of them is about storage. I have kingston A2000 250gb m.2 and i want to add 500gb hdd. The problem is that the 500gb hdd was on my father's pc and he was running windows on it. Now when i attach it to my motherboard will it have any problems and how do i erase all data on it?

Solution
While the computer is off, connect the hard drive. When you power it on, go to the bios and make sure that the m.2 drive is above the hdd.
Note that there is a difference between (quick) formatting and erasing. When you perform a quick format, the data is marked as "available" for removal, but it's still there (until you put new data that will override the old one). When you use disk erasing (wiping) utilities, they write 0's and 1's, making the data unrecoverable.
EDIT: I meant to write "note" instead of "not".
