I feel like a right plumb. I've bought a second hand laptop from eBay but I've just noticed that the description says that it has had a new blank hdd fitted so the os will have to be installed.
I'm aware with windows 8 laptops they don't print the product key on the back anymore but it's saved to the motherboard. What I'm struggling with is finding a way to install win 8. It's an ultra book so doesn't have a optical drive which doesn't help.
I've looked on the Microsoft website but all I can find is upgrade to win 8.1 things.
Having a bit of a panic here!
I guess the lesson to learn from all this is never go on eBay drunk.

But the laptop HAD windows 8 on it. It came preinstalled.
You don't have to buy a new copy of windows every time you change your hard drive right?
