Installing Win 8

I am building my first pc. I bought windows 8 and got a cd. I was wondering if I needed to buy an internal dvd drive to run it or will an external work?

An external dvd drive will work. Be sure to modify your BIOS's boot order to have this external drive as a higher priority than the hard drive you will be installing Windows to. After a successful installation you can move the hard drive back to the #1 boot order spot.
