hello friends.
i do usually fresh install my windows every 4-5 months and afterward install a couple of programs and go through settings for my desirable configurations... but this is taking much time. i usually install windows iso via rufus and do fresh install
is there a way to make a iso file of windows with all of programs and configuration just after a fresh install and use it for future installation to skip one by one installation of apps.
p.s: i use win 8.1
edit: i want the iso to be bootable somehow to use it in case of non working os

In addition to all the other things I use Macrium for....this.

For every new system, I make a Day 1 and Day 2 image.
Day 1 = Just the OS
Day 2 = OS + drivers + Updates + basic load of applications

Said Images saved to my normal backup space on the NAS. Could just as easily be a large flash drive or external HDD.

If needed, boot from a Macrium Rescue USB, and select the Image desired, apply the Image to the drive. Poof...Day 2, no muss no fuss.
I have a Macrium Rescue USB sitting in the bottom of my case, so it can't get lost or overwritten.
that's what imaging and back-up software is for. do your fresh install, get it all configured and other apps installed.

then image the drive and keep that back-up somewhere safe. then when you wish to restore it, use the imaging software to put the system back to where it was.

i don't have a preference for what software but acronis true image seems to be a fav of many people

thanks but i more need a way to make an iso to be able to install like what i do with rufus. the program you mentioned needs a working os. i like to have flash drive booted with my whole os and then use it as bootable drive to install via bios in case of a non working os. like i a had problem a few month ago that the os keeped restarting just after entering desktop

you can put windows updates into your installer and you can even have it pre-configured with most windows settings. i do this myself for my installers.

however, you won't be able to get 3rd party software to "pre-install" at least i have not been able to do it yet and i've been messing with custom install options since win xp days!!

i use a program called NLite https://www.ntlite.com/ to tweak my installer packages.

to get the full functions you have to buy it, but it was worth it to me. the freebie let's you do a lot of stuff but it is limited. there are a couple others to try but i have not personally used any others. this has worked for me since XP days so i did not bother trying others out :)

i will mention though that it is very easy to break your installer so it won't even install. i've done it many times. so make sure you back up the iso file so it stays fresh. and try your new iso on a second hdd to be sure it still works before you actually need it. lots and lots of boxes to check and uncheck and it takes practice to see what you should and should not touch!!
