This is very intriguing to me, i don't nearly have enough ram to achieve this but i was wondering if it was possible.
With what utility can a ram-drive be setup in dos and then windows 98 be installed onto it! Is there a site with this information? Please someone message me back.

I think it could be done... if you really wanted to... but how could you ever turn your computer off? And what happens if power goes out? OUCH...
then again if you make a ghost image or something and load it up into RAM on bootup... its an intriguing notion, although I'm not sure how much of a performance boost you'd get...
it might be better to just set the virtual memory onto RAMdrive:)

I'm afraid you wouldn't be able to....Windows would be able to copy files to it but then when the install need to restart the computer all those files would be lost.

I agree with jobe...it is not possible to install Windows in RAM, as Windows is extremely fond of rebooting...

But if you COULD have your whole OS in RAM...that'd be...NICE! No loading times..no nothing!

well no you couldn't install it there initially... but you could install it onto hard drive, make a ghost image, and than move the image to ramdrive during bootup... it's tricky, and would probably result in a lot of headaches, but I think a process COULD be perfected and made to work...

I've thought about this, but haven't come up with anything usefull yet. I'd like to create a bootable cd that sets up a ram disk and then copies a windows installation into it, but I can't get windows to load.
