Question Installing Windows 10 on 2nd drive

Hi all, got a question about adding g a second drive.

I have Windows 10 installed on my SSD, and I want to add a 2nd one strictly for games. Unfortunately, I've lost my Windows 10 key.

Is there a way to simply copy everything to the new SSD from the existing one, uninstall everything, and away I go?

Alternatively, if I buy a new code key, will it matter if each drive has Windows on a different key?

You don't need another windows license.
Install same edition windows 10 and it will get activated automatically, when you connect to internet.

Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro - are different editions. They will not cross activate and will require separate licenses.

Technically you should have a product key for every active Windows installation unless you have a Volume License except for when you are installing on the same machine (w/o changing hardware).

Unless windows 10 was upgraded from windows 7 or windows 8/8.1.
Then you have generic/default windows 10 key.

Maybe......clone 1st to 2nd.....boot from 2nd and uninstall whatever you don't want......test.

Hi all, not sure if thus is the right place, but here goes! I currently have a 512Gb SATA SSD, and want to add an NVME SSD. (hopefully I have my terminology right) I'm probably missing something, but I see people say that they have OS on one drive, and games on another. Don't you need the OS...
