The hard drive i am using that has windows installed on it is 250 gb the one i want to install windows 10 on is 500gb and much faster than the 250 gb hard drive. How do i do it? The hard drive that is 500 gb use to have windows 8.1 on it from my old pc but i wiped / reformatted the hard drive and was using it as storage. Is there a way i can just download windows 10 on a usb and install it on the other hard drive with my windows 10 key from the 250 gb one?

Are you looking to install Windows 10 or 7/8.1? If you're looking to install Windows 10, it's easiest to use this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

If you're going to use 7/8.1, then use this tool: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=56485
Win 7 ISO: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7
Win 8.1 ISO: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8

Answering your actual question though: Either add the 500GB HDD or replace the 250GB one, plug in the USB drive and use one of the F keys to boot from the USB drive.
