Hi all,

Hopefully you can help me. I have searched and searched but haven't been able to find an answer to this.

I am soon building a pc and will be connecting it to my LG smart tv via hdmi. What I want to know is, when I first boot up in order to install Windows, will it display on my TV? I know that Windows can display to a TV using hdmi but does it connect automatically or do you need to go to display settings and tell it to output the display using hdmi? If so, how will I be able to view the boot process or go into bios via hdmi?

For info, my TV is LG 55UF8009 (4K).

My planned build is:
i7 6770K
Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5
GTX 1080
HyperX Fury 2133mhz 16gb
Samsung 950 Pro m.2 SSD nvme 256 gb (boot drive)
SanDisk SSD 960gb (storage)

Many thanks for any help.
Have a great day.

ok, that's great, thanks. One more question, does it make a difference if I am installing using a USB stick? I'm planning to buy Windows 10 on usb from Amazon and I've read that the usb drive must be uefi formatted to work. I've tried to find out on the Amazon page if it is uefi but it doesn't say.
