Hello people, hope you are all well..
so... basically i wanted to create a bootable usb to be able to access through windows which was windows 7. The reason i did this was because my laptop (on windows 10) kept crashing and freezing and wasn't responsive, till i tried to repair it and was stuck on the repair loop, i tried going on YouTube on my phone to see how to fix the repair loop i tried everything i was able to try such as using cmd, no solution... So i ended up creating a bootable usb. Now since i installed windows 7 from that i want to know if its possible to reverse back to windows 10 and have all my data back? Or should i just get a brand new laptop? because windows 7 that i'm using now seems to be crashing and is frustrating.

Hopefully i could get help from this.

You should have installed Windows 10 from the very beginning. It's very possible that you deleted your data when you installed Windows 7 on your laptop. If you didn't (unlikely), it should be somewhere in your hard drive.

You can reinstall Windows 10 on that laptop if you want, but it won't have your data there either.

As a last resort, you can try programs like Recuva on your hard drive, but since you've been using your laptop sonce the Windows 7 installation, I wouldn't put much hope on that in the first place.

I didnt know what to do & i dont think theres any data deleted because hours ago i downloaded a app called easeus data recovery, then scanned and as i was scanning i saw previous data from my laptop but i didnt want to proceed to downloading them on windows 7 so i cancelled it. A few minutes ago i searched & searched till i found a question asking a similar question to mine & the answer given was that they should do a testdisk so i tried doing that but it seems as if it reversed back to my previous situation. I forgot to mention the situation which is before i installed the windows 7 on the bootable usb, i tried to hard reset my laptop by taking off the ac adapter and the charger then holding the power button. But then i was stuck to an error which was ‘no bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key’ and thats when i tried to find a solution to get out from that and install windows 7 installation on a different computer and divert it on my usb.

After doing that testdisk i restarted my computer as i was following what a youtuber was doing on a video and it to went back to the error that i just said. So since im on the error now i dont know if ill be able to get out of it. I tried to before but there seems to be no solution..

You need to be really really careful about stuff you find on utube.
A lot of it, to put it kindly, is just junk.

Troubleshooting 101 - Identify the problem before applying a solution.

Did this originally come with Win 10?
If so, installing Win 7 may have just made it worse.
And certainly screwed any chance of a full recovery of all your data.

Ok i guess i learned my lesson. Next time ill just leave it as it is and get it sorted from someone who will be able to fix it. No it didnt orginally come with windows 10, it came with windows 8 but then i had to install windows 10 as it suggested (this was years ago) i believe it was 2015 since i had the laptop.

I guess i should of had the first thought of coming here than relying on youtube.. if its impossible to get all my data back. I guess ill have to jog along with it & start over which is fine i guess.
