Hi,
I am trying to install windows 7 on a ASUS X551MA laptop that came with windows 8 64bit. I have swapped the original drive out with a 240GB SSD that is currently bare. I have a official windows 7 64bit upgrade dvd to install (I have always used this in the past) and an genuine windows 7 oem key.
Every time I boot from the dvd to start the install, windows says loading files, I get the windows starting (without the windows logo popping up) and then the message "the bios in this system are not fully ACPI compliant. Contact your vender for updated bios."
I have turned off safe boot and enabled CMS in the bios. Is there a step I have missed?
I have updated the bios of the motherboard to the most recent version to see if it helped. 5.13. The computer works fine with the windows 8 drive in it so I am pretty sure it isn't a bios corruption issue or a hardware failure.
Thanks!
