Installing Windows 7 on my computer - Help

Hi All,

I have previously installed windows 7 on this rig but for some reason now (With many attempts) I get to install windows on my M.2 250gb samsung drive and its gets the initial loading screen with the floating dot colours then it freezes and reboots.

I have spent hours on end saturday night and sunday to get this going but it's a no go! I used various of ISO'S and installing via RUFUS on USB. I try GPT , MBR and still the issue.

8700K
16GB DDR4 2993mhz
M.2 250GB Samsung
GTX 1080ti
Aorus gamer 5 motherboard (CSM enabled and tried disabled)

I need windows 7 for a specific reason so hopefully someone can help! Just bugs me that it worked before but now it doesnt.

What model M.2 250GB Samsung? SATA 850/860? or NVME 960/970?
Did you use Gigabyte Windows USB Installation Tool ?

What settings did you use in BIOS? :

• sata controller mode
  CSM settings for storage

Can you post photos of those BIOS screens?

It's the samsung 960 EVO.

Weirdest thing is my friend has the 8700k with aorus gamer 3 motherboard and he just installed it with no issues ..

Set Windows Boot Manager to 1st in boot order.

Hi James, have you checked all your cables? Might be a wire issue...
You better check your sata cables properly and if you are just trying to install windows 7, try to install windows 8 (or 8.1)
If that too dosent work... Maybe some other cable(ssd or any other etc...)is loose idk
