Installing Windows 7 on second HDD (on IDE to SATA adapter - former CD/DVD)

On an Inspiron 1525 I replaced the old DVD with a HDD using a 2nd HDD/SSD adapter rack.
I booted Windows 7 from an USB stick and everything is fine until...
...I want to install Windows 7, when I am not able to run the installation on the second HDD.

Any help on how can I install Windows 7 in there?

In the "choose a drive" box, Windows Setup only shows those drives or devices which are bootable.

Because the drive in the removable caddy is not shown, this means a hard drive which is in the caddy is not bootable, so you can't install Windows on it.

You can only use that drive for storage and backups whilst it's in the caddy.

Only the main hard drive can be used for a Windows installation.

If your intention is to install a second OS for dual-booting, you will have to use the main hard drive for that.
