Hello, A few months ago I purchased an SSD to install windows onto, because obviously it boots up the Computer much quicker. Well anyway, when I actually installed windows onto it, I could not connect to the internet when I booted the SSD first. But could connect to the internet when booting up my Hard Drive first. This got me really frustrated and I ended up giving up on the whole idea and went back to booting windows up with my hard drive. Anyway, I have decided to give it another go, and was wondering if anybody could tell me how I can connect to the internet when booting up from my SSD. I use a TP-link power line adapter to connect to my internet.

Solution

The total used space on the Windows partition should indeed be less that the size of the SSD. The other partitions on the HDD don't matter. But actually, if you boot from your HDD and run the tool, it will tell you what's what.

After you install the OS, you must then install your LAN driver. And all the other drivers for your hardware.

Thank you for your reply, but where do I get the 'Data migration Tool'?

My SSD is 250GB, and I have used 1.4TB of space on my HDD, I am most likely going to do a wipe on my HDD.

Read above.
