Installing windows 8.1 on a brand new computer.

I recently bought a lenovo laptop with no os. Thought I'd try and install Windows myself (I live in a country where you can get pirated copies of software for pennies, but authorized copies are near impossible to get.) I bought windows 10 first, but couldn't get beyond the request for drivers as I didn't notice the lenovo boot CD has drivers for windows 8.1. Went back and bought the 8.1 dvd and I can't boot it - it just goes to a screen with the windows logo and stays there. Any ideas?

Where did you bought the laptop? It should have a pre installed windows

you are using pirated copies. not good.
