Installing Windows 8 on an empty SSD: "No drivers are found?"

Hi guys. So, in short, I'm trying to downgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1, and in doing so, I decided to wipe my SSD (because I was having trouble beforehand and becoming frustrated). With an empty SSD, a USB-C to USB-A cable, and an Android phone, I'm trying to use DriveDroid to host a Windows .iso file and install it using that.

This method allows my computer to boot and begin the installation process, however, it always stops short at this error message:

...and when I continue, a dialog box pops up saying this: "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK."

I'm stumped trying to figure out what drivers it's asking for. I have no clue what I need to do next. Can anyone help?

Ok SO, instead of using DriveDroid I scavenged around and found an actual flash drive. I used Rufus to create a bootable stick using a Windows 8 iso from Microsoft's website, and that's working fine.

So if anyone else is having the same problem, just get a flash drive.
