I just put an ssd into my system. I disconnected my hard drive, and began installing windows onto the ssd. However, I'm now getting an error after putting on my key saying " windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style. How do I fix this? Do I need to change something in the BIOS?

It's important to select the UEFI interface from the boot menu when installing the OS onto a GPT-partitioned disk. If you boot to Win 10 installation media (USB Media Tool or DVD) as a SATA-connected device instead of the UEFI interface in order to install Win 10 onto a GPT disk, an error message will appear at the onset of the installation process stating that Win 10 cannot be installed on a GPT disk. Conceivably there may be a different problem that's preventing the system from installing Win 10 onto a GPT-partitioned disk but the preceding is the usual case.
