Hey, I have a laptop that has a BIOS password on and well i have forgotten the password so there isn't anyway that i can boot of a USB. I have tried many ways to reset the bios and well all were in vain. My intention was to upgrade my notebook from Windows 7 to the new Windows 8.1.
Since there isn't anyway that i can boot off a USB on my laptop, i was thinking of using my desktop.
I was thinking of removing the laptop HDD from the laptop and connecting it t to the desktop. Here i will format the laptop HDD and then boot up my Windows 8.1 USB and install. I think all this will go fine, but my main concern is when i remove the Laptop HDD from the desktop and places it back into the laptop will it cause any problems. By problems i mean like the drivers.
Looking forward to a positive response.

^ That will almost certainly not work.
