Installing Windows on NVME SSD

I recently received a NVME SSD and installed it on my motherboard. I have a previous SATA based SSD and cloned it to the NVME drive. However, I could not boot from it. After that failed, I decided to install a fresh copy of windows (7 & 8 pro 64bit) onto the NVME drive, but it also failed. During the installation, the NVME drive would not appear.

CPU: i5 4690
Motherboard: ASUS H97+
RAM: Corsair Vengence 8GB DDR3
NVME SSD: HP EX920 512gb
Video Card: XFX RX 480 8GB

Checking the support page for the H97+ motherbord shows it doesnt support nvme drives out of the box but it was added in bios verison 2502. You may need to update before you proceed.

All Asus Intel Series 9 Chipset motherboards support booting from NVMe storage although some require a BIOS update.

Cloning a previous SATA based SSD will not work without including the NVMe driver.

under the "Advanced" tab, there is a section called "NVMe Configuration" and I can see the drive on there. However, I am unable to do anything to it.
