I've just bought an SSD and want to put a clean install of windows 7 on it. I already have an HDD with it on. I want to remove windows from my HDD but keep all my installed programs and stuff on there. Is this possible? If so, how would I do it?
Thanks in advance!

Solution
You can migrate it over, but if the HDD capacity outweights the SSD (i.e. 250GB SSD and a HDD with 300GB of space used) then it will not work.

I would recommend backing up any documents that you have and re-install what you want on your hard drive. This is because the registery is going to be on the SSD and not the HDD going forward. So just copying/pasting the folders will not work. The only thing that will be effected is programs. This is because you are going to have to change the letter drive on your HDD now.

My recommendation? Backup data on your HDD, wipe it. Install Windows on the SSD and install programs back to the hard drive.

I second Herc, you cannot run the programs off the HDD unless you reinstall them or clone everything (after a good clean up) to the SSD. Follow his recommendation and you will spend less time and get a better result.

When you do the clean install do not have the HDD connected to force the SRP onto the SSD, as Win 7 sometimes messes that up with other connected storage.
