Question installing windows

hello im trying to reinstall windows on my pc I'm using a usb drive to install with but when it asks me where to install the windows I click on my ONLY hdd and it says that it cant install to this partition so I formatted the hdd and it still says the same thing how can I get it to install

Which windows ? Normally it's best to delete all the partitions and leave disk RAW.

and how do ileave the disk in raw format

Use diskpart clean to clean the drive before installing windows onto it.
You can launch Command prompt with Shift+F10 after you have booted from windows installation media.
(Just be careful. Don't clean the wrong disk.)

That's fastest way but if you also have data partition(s) you want t keep and still do clean install that would delete them too. Once booted to windows installation you have options to delete all system partitions and keep your data partition intact.
