When I am setting up windows 2000 Pro I recieve an error
message that says. The signature for Windows 2000 Pro
Setup is invalid. The error code is 800b0001. The log
also says "Setup failed to install the product catalogs.
this is a fatal error. The setup log files should contain
more info. I need to know what these mean and how to
correct the problem

The first error message might indicate a BIOS problem, see this MS
Knowledge Base article:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=297000

I have seen the second error message when setup doesn't find the CD after
the first reboot during setup. This error probably depends on the first
one.

Install the latest BIOS version for your motherboard before trying to setup
Win2000.

Best regards
