instant flash or internet flash motherboard bios?

I was having problems with my memory on my pc and asrock told me to update the bios through internet flash, I always thought it was safer to update the bios through instant flash? I have a z170 pro4s (skylake build with only usb 3.0) with windows 7 installed, is that the reason why he told me to do an internet flash rather than an instant flash? Which one is safer?

I will ONLY do bios update within bios. NEVER inside windows.
Do bios within bios it is so much safer. Use a USB key that has been freshly formatted and you JUST have the bios file on the usb key.
