I have an Acer Aspire es1-512 laptop, and while I can boot into windows, I can't seem to change things like boot order, and any useful settings in the bios except for user and hdd passwords. I've even used bios-pw.org to get the bios password, but that doesn't do anything, it just bypasses the password, but doesn't allow me to reset anything. I can't even highlight the settings for supervisor password, it just skips right past it to user password.
I don't know what to do. I must've set the supervisor password like a year or go when I was installing linux, but I barely use to laptop, so now that I've come back to it, I've forgotten. The only way I can boot into linux is by booting to windows, entering recovery mode from windows, and then selecting to boot to linux from within there, which is a pain. The only advice I've come across is to take out the CMOS battery, but I've even seen some people saying that it doesn't work.
What can I do?
