INT-IDE / ULTRADMA / DVD, a little help?

Hi,

I'm preparing to put together a new system, and I could use a little help in the area of CD's and DVD's. I'm a little out of the loop computer-wise. ;)

First, what is the difference between a INT-IDE CD-ROM and a ULTRADMA CD-ROM?

Secondly, I am trying to figure out if I am better off with a pure CD-ROM or a DVD which can do both...

Basically, my choices are:
52X INT-IDE CD-ROM (Creative Labs)
50X ULTRADMA CD-ROM (Asus)
16X DVD 48X CD INT IDE (Toshiba)

The system will be a 1.2GHz Athalon on a Asus A7M266 if it makes a difference.

Oh, I already have a CD burner, not a fast one, but it works. :)

Basically, all new IDE DVD drives that I know of are DMA/ATA compatible. However, ATA33 seems to be about as high as they go and really, I would not bet on it being a compatible ATA33 (meaning try to hook another ATA33 device to it and it may not work).

Having both a CD and a DVD drive would be overkill, get a nice DVD drive (16X recommended) and you will be fine.
