In general a discrete GPU will be more powerful than your iGPU, but as said above there's more to it than just how much video memory (VRAM) you have: it depends on the exact GPUs in question.

FYI your iGPU uses your system memory, so that 2GB is taken out of the RAM available to your CPU. Also, system memory is typically much slower than VRAM, so a discrete graphics card with 2GB of fast GDDR5 VRAM would be faster than an iGPU even if both GPUs by themselves were about equal in power.
