Integrated Graphics and UHD UW displays

I'm considering a UHD UW display (34"). I believe the resolution of such displays are 3440 x 1440.

Can typical Year 2014 integrated graphics handle this? Such as an Intel 4600?

By "handle" -- I don't mean gaming, but I do mean youtube videos, dvd playing, etc.

yes, BUT only thru displayport.

I'm digging through an intel spec and see what you mean... but I'm sorry to ask this -- what is the practical implication that it's "only through displayport"? How would that be a consideration or impact thinking? (Sorry I am not sure if that should scare me or not.)

means no HDMI, or vga, or dvi. If you want 4k.



That 4k monitor you want and your PC must both have displayport 1.2 for 4k to work with hd 4600.
