Hi ,
I have a lenovo laptop with vega 8 integrated graphics and i do some light gaming.

From what i understand oem drivers(amd) are always newer version and probably better performing, the only good reason i know that supports the use of laptop drivers(lenovo) is that sometimes they are tuned in a way that increases battery life, and installing oem might reduce battery life by a big chunk.

What are your thoughts?

you can always test them out and revert back (make sure to save the old driver installer or re-download it) if you have issues.

my hp notebook uses the amd drivers from amd just fine

you test them. play games. if it's buttery smooth and no jaggies and high fps, you should be good. you should not pollute your windows install with nonsense utilities that don't prove anything. benchmark utils fall into that category for me.

test with all your games, watch videos online and locally, test it.
