can integrated graphics handle ploaying games as well as a graphics card can, if not is it possible to purchase a laptop that has a graphics card instead of the integrated one?

Solution
Well while integrated will work, it often will not work quite as well or as detailed. At least in some devices.

Many laptops come with both in one laptop. In such a case you can just set the laptop to use the other graphics card/GPU rather than the integrated one.

Just concentrate on looking at laptops with "switchable graphics" or laptops with the word "gaming" in the name - - - they have APU graphics for ordinary stuff, plus a discrete AMD or Nvidia graphics card for running games or running software like Photoshop.

However, a custom-built desktop PC is a far better option if you're a keen gamer. Better cooling options, better upgrade options.

Laptops will never be as good for gaming as a suitably-equipped desktop PC on account of the heat factor.
Keeping the inside of an inch-high laptop cool enough to avoid instability or sudden shutdowns when gaming is difficult to say the least.
