Hi,

Intel® Core™ i7-6700K Processor with 4 cores & 8 hyperthreads threads
(8M Cache, up to 4.20 GHz)
3.6Ghz Clock Speed.
Intel Z270 Chipset.
Along with the motherboard I have:
ASUS Z710-A
64GB RAM

Will above setup work for editing 4k in Davinci Resolve 16? This is a Creation Station I purchased in 2017 for music production.

Thanks!

The 6700 is a good audio CPU, but video editing likes extra cores.
8 Cores for audio is fine too but if you need low latency and use core locked synths AMDs are not ideal yet. They have too much latency still.
The newer CPU’s coming out called Vermeer seem to have re designed their cache to eliminate latency between CCX’s.

I’d keep the 6700k because it’s great for audio.
Get an AMD 3700X or higher for the video tasks.

Lots of audio buffs do video as theyre film composers.
Many use multiple PC/Mac combos using an app called VEPro.
2 x PC’s with fast quads and a big MacPro.

How about Davinci Studio 15? I see Davinci 15 requirements is at least a 4 core Processor, and a strong. That sound like a good Idea? The GPU is something I'd have to purchase, but it looks like that could work, potentially...
