There is a lot of envelope pushing still going on at intel,they are making GPUs now, they are making AI coprocessors on .m2 that have cpu cores as well, they make optane memory dimms they are involved in a lot of things and desktop CPU is the lowest priority in their list right now especially since they are still very competitive even with a 5 year old arch/process.
