Laptops based on Intel 10th gen processors are currently available and these processors support upto 128GB of RAM.

With the announcement of 11th gen CPUs, the manufacturers are yet to announce new models. But 11th gen supports upto 64GB of RAM.

My dilemma is whether to wait for 11th gen & limit myself to 64GB or buy 10th gen but with 128GB.

  • Keep in mind, most laptops only have 2 RAM slots anyway.
  • The largest kit of laptop RAM (that I'm aware of) you can buy is 2x32GB anyway.
  • Also, the RAM limitation can be further decreased by the laptop manufacturer (pay close attention to this)
  • What are you doing on a LAPTOP that needs >64GB RAM?

Thanks. Lenovo Thinkpad P15 has 4 memory banks. I run a lot of virtual machines and additional memory definitely helps.
